About
10 THINGS ABOUT ME:
My name: I go by Natasha, Tash, Tasha, Mom or Princess (my heart goes all squishy when my kids call me this).
My location: I’ve lived in Johannesburg since 2010 but grew up in beautiful Cape Town (which I realise now I didn’t appreciate nearly enough).
My family: My incredible husband Adrian, 2 busy, spunky, kind-hearted boys – Joshua (age 7) and Jaden (age 5), and 2 doggies – Mishu and Eggie (technically Sir Egbert. Because he’s a pug.)
My passions: I love Jesus first and foremost, and am passionate about making a difference in this world. We are currently in the process of registering as a place of safety for abused or neglected kiddies, but I have big aspirations that will unfold over time…
My work: I’m a PR and marketing consultant/freelancer with my own business, Hummingbird Consulting.
My hobbies: I love doing things that give me a sense of achievement while giving me time and space to sift through my thoughts: mainly building puzzles and gardening. I also love doing things that can take my mind off of my thoughts (because I tend to spend A LOT of time there): playing cards or board-games does that for me.
My thoughts: I have a lot of them and they’ve always overwhelmed me because I’ve never had the tools to process them. I’m learning how to unpack them and deal with them responsibly instead of shutting them out because they’re too much to deal with.
My blog: I’m on a journey, as we all are, and I think there’s value in including others on it. While I believe this will be an outlet to help me navigate, process and find my voice, I hope that some of what I say will resonate with others and encourage them too.
I have some pretty hectic stories to share (both trauma and triumphs), many learnings and revelations, some tools that I find useful, and will have heaps more to talk about as our family navigates making an impact in our city, and eventually, the world (I’m putting it out there!).
My favourite food: Chocolate, pasta, pizza, freshly baked bread and (proper, old-school) “slap chips”.
This is me in a nutshell. I am a work in progress – in fact, I almost called the blog that.
*Disclaimer: I apologise to the grammar Nazis (I’m one of them under normal circumstances) for the incorrect grammar usage in this blog. It’s more important for me to share my thoughts accurately, as they appear in my mind, than to have a perfect work of literature. I’ll save that for my day job.
